Skin Derma and Wound Care

Anyone who owns a horse knows that they need to be prepared for the eventuality of injuries, wounds and irritations. As a one-step immediate-acting product, it eliminates the need for multiple products while reducing the application time and requirements. Both the liquid Fiske’s Hoof & Hide Balm,, and Fiske’s Skin & Wound Salve are for wound care, your choice comes down to which is easier to apply. Paint the wound with the brush application, apply the salve by gently massaging the product in to the area, or three pour Fiske’s Hoof & Hide Balm into a squeeze application bottle and address the wound by squeezing the balm directly into the wound. Lightly wrap for protection, but also leaving the wound exposed for oxygen to circulate the wound is also recommended.

Cleanse regularly with warm Epsom Salt and Water.

Our freshly harvested beeswax provides a breathable band aide effect, allowing air to flow around the wound, and doubles as a natural topical antibiotic. Unlike traditional antiseptics and topical antibiotics it does not damage healthy tissue. Fiske’s “tests free” on competition animals as it contains no banned substances.
